A nationwide survey, commissioned by created in conjunction with leading menopause clinical specialists and physicians Miss Charlotte Cassis and Mr Gidon Lieberman, has drawn more than 3,000 responses. This is the largest survey ever conducted in the UK focussed on workplace access to menopause support, and the results are too impactful to ignore.
The new data reveals the extent to which UK industry is failing women through a continued absence of workplace support for menopause. The survey also highlights what has already been widely suspected: menopause symptoms are having a measurably detrimental impact on women in the workplace. Key stats from the survey:
- Almost one third (27%) of people without access to menopause support at work have left or have considered leaving their job.
- Over six in ten (61%) of women said they did not feel comfortable discussing menopause with their line managers or HR.
- Almost one third (29%) of women said that fear of stigma or discrimination was preventing them from getting the support they need.
- Over one in ten (13%) women are currently looking for new jobs that include menopause support, which equates to more than 1 million women in the UK right now.
