Download our Fertility & Family-forming policy template, an employee policy must-have

We've created a template version of our fertility and family-forming policy, to give you a framework to use when defining your own.

Our template policy includes:

Why your employees need a Fertility and Family-forming Policy
Practicalities around how to book time off and how many days your employees should be entitled to
Resources for employees and helpful terminology related to fertility and family-forming journeys

At Fertifa, we know that fertility and family-forming journeys can have a profound impact on an individual, especially without workplace support.

That’s why we’ve made our Fertility and Family-forming policy available to share.

Our policy gives employees the framework to talk about their experiences and receive the support they need. It’s designed to be inclusive of everyone of every gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship status, age, and family structure. No two paths to parenthood are the same, and our policy reflects the need for flexibility.

  • 1 in 6 people globally experience infertility.
  • 60% of people take unexplained absences due to the demands of fertility treatments.
  • 90% of individuals facing fertility challenges report feeling depressed.

Our template policy includes the reasons why your employees need a Fertility and Family-Forming Policy, as well as an overview of different processes and procedures, from IVF and ICSI to adoption and surrogacy. We outline how employees can book time off, access support, and how many days an employee should be entitled to. We also include resources and terminology to help navigate some of the more confusing and lesser-known terms.

Over the next few months, we'll be releasing more of our internal policies, including our pregnancy loss, menopause, and parental and carer policies. We hope that other companies will use these templates when thinking about establishing their own.

If you feel like the language we’ve used here could be changed to be more inclusive of you, please let us know. We are always open to learning.

Thank you!
