Download our comprehensive Menopause Policy Template, and support your employees through every stage of menopause

Menopause is an inevitable stage of life for half of the world's population, and yet it has long been misunderstood and under-represented in our workplaces. That's why we've created a template version of our Menopause Policy to give you the right framework to define your own.

Our template policy includes:

Why your employees need a menopause policy
Practicalities around how to book time off and how many days your employees should be entitled to
Resources for employees, as well as helpful menopause terminology

At Fertifa, we understand the challenges menopause can bring, especially in the absence of workplace support. We've seen firsthand how a menopause policy can make employees feel seen, understood, and supported. No two people will experience menopause in the same way, and your policy should reflect that by being comprehensive and flexible, as well as inclusive of all employees.

  • 8 in 10 people assigned-female-at-birth experience menopause symptoms, and for many, these symptoms last several years.
  • 1 in 4 people assigned-female-at-birth experience severe menopause symptoms that can have a serious impact on work performance and overall wellbeing.
  • Over half of menopausal people have been unable to go in to work at some point due to symptoms.

Our template policy includes includes practical guidance on workplace adjustments and helpful terminology that covers some of the more confusing and lesser-known terms.

Over the next few months, we'll be releasing more of our internal policies, including our pregnancy loss and parental and carer policies. We hope that other companies will use these templates when thinking about establishing their own.

If you feel like the language we’ve used here could be changed to be more inclusive of you, please let us know. We are always open to learning.

Thank you!
