Bondaval is a fast-growing insurtech that provides its Fortune 50 clients with a faster, more efficient tech platform for securing credit risk. After raising more than $15 million in venture funding and growing its team significantly in the last year in the UK and USA, the company was keen to ensure its culture reflected its diverse team composition and would be inclusive of future talent coming from any of the tech, insurance or other sectors as they continued to scale.

In order to do this, the company wanted to offer employees best-in-class benefits and wellbeing support for all of their journeys and needs, not least of which included reproductive health. During 2023, three babies were born to Bondaval team members and with a tech-savvy younger demographic it was clear that other colleagues might have questions regarding reproductive health choices and fertility preservation, or other options even before parenting.

Finally, outside of family-forming, company leadership also understood the fact that their industry is male-dominated, and one of the company’s aims is to ensure there is representation of women in all of its roles and across senior leadership. To do this in an authentic and impactful way, Bondaval recognised how important it was to offer women the necessary support they might need through significant life events, such as menopause.

The Bondaval challenge

Finding a comprehensive reproductive healthcare provider that would work with its small but fast-growing employee population.

Like many tech companies, Bondaval started with a relatively small number of employees which meant that some other providers would either not quote or would impose inefficient annual cost minimums for wellbeing support. Most private medical insurance (PMI) schemes in the UK and USA do not cover fertility, menopause, or other reproductive health concerns, and most other reproductive health providers impose minimum employee headcounts for provision, which Bondaval would not have met.

After exploring the market and options available, Bondaval recognised Fertifa as the best provider to offer its team a comprehensive and fully inclusive package for its employees and company size:

  • Full service available to a small headcount, at a reasonable price.
  • Individualised advice and support from a medical professional for every employee in the UK and USA.
  • A medically-led approach with access to doctors, nurses, treatment and prescriptions.
  • A benefit that could grow with the company.

The Fertifa solution

Fertifa supports Bondaval’s mission to create a diverse and inclusive company

Bondaval is working hard to create a diverse team and inclusive workplace. Being a technology-centric company, the company leadership understands the fact that the industry is historically homogenous. Working with Fertifa has meant they have been able to offer tangible support to those who really need it.

“Dr. Jane was fantastic, she really put my mind at ease with her honest approach. We don’t need anything at this stage thank you, we know where to come if we do. 10/10. Much appreciated.” - Bondaval patient

The impact and results so far

So far, the team at Bondaval has seen a great response. There are more people, men and women alike, speaking openly about ‘taboo’ topics, such as reproductive and sexual health, and more people are open with their wellbeing needs.

  • 15% of Bondaval employees registered with the Fertifa app after the launch announcement
  • 100% of Bondaval employees attended their in-person launch event
  • 55% of Bondaval employees have had a consultation call with a Fertifa doctor
