Why are financial services companies enhancing their fertility benefits?

In recent years, financial services firms in the UK have been implementing or enhancing the fertility benefits they offer their people. This trend is indicative of the growing recognition employers have for the challenges their employees face regarding fertility and family planning, and the crucial role they play in providing support.

Fertility challenges can often be extremely difficult to face, and it is encouraging to see employers going the extra mile to support people through their family-forming journeys

Supporting employees during their reproductive health journey will not only benefit them personally, the business benefits are clear:

Talent attraction and retention: With 77% of millennials willing to change jobs for a company that offers fertility benefits, providing this support has become crucial for companies aiming to attract and retain skilled professionals.

Employee wellbeing: Fertility treatments can be financially and emotionally taxing. Offering benefits such as flexible working hours, paid time off for medical appointments, and financial support for treatments like IVF demonstrates a company's commitment to employee well-being.

Promoting inclusivity: Comprehensive fertility benefits support diverse family-building journeys, including those of LGBTQ+ employees and single individuals, fostering an inclusive workplace culture.

By implementing fertility benefits, financial services firms not only support their employees' personal aspirations but also demonstrate that they are progressive and genuinely care for their people,  giving them a competitive edge in the talent market.
